Children’s Sunday Morning Programs
3 Years-5 Years (PreK) Classes at 9:30 and 11:00am
Interactive classes help children understand basic Biblical truths through storytelling, puppetry, singing, and a variety of hands-on activities. Classes meet for a full hour. At 9:30, three year olds meet in room 120; and four year olds/ Pre-K five year olds meet in room 118. At 11:00, the preschool classes are combined, meeting in room 120.
Bridges to Worship at 9:30am
Bridges to Worship is available to children ages 4-6. Read more about it below.
Power Up at 9:30 and 11:00am
Through drama and grade-level small group activities, this fun and creative virtues-based program helps children connect Biblical stories to the stories of their own lives. At 9:30, children begin with their parents in worship in the sanctuary and transition to class on the 3rd floor after the opening set of music. At 11am, children begin class at the top of the hour on the 3rd floor.
Bridges and Gateways to Worship at 9:30am
Bridges to Worship is available to children ages 4-6. Based on understanding God through story, wonder, and play, Bridges is an ideal option for kids who appreciate Montessori learning environments.
Gateways to Worship is available to 2nd and 3rd grade children. Using fun activities meant to help children apply faith to life, kids ultimately learn about the meaning and purpose of worshiping God.
Children participating in Bridges and Gateways begin with their parents in worship in the sanctuary and transition to class on the 3rd floor after the opening set of music. Additionally, families looking to get involved with worship and Sunday school will find that these classes offer an excellent option logistically – kids experience partial worship, then learn more about it in class at the 9:30 hour; after that, they can attend Power Up or choir for the full hour at 11am.
Boys’ and Girls’ classes at 9:30 and 11:00am
With an emphasis on building community and serving others, this program helps preteens understand what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus and how they fit in to God’s big story. Boys and girls begin in separate classes for games and other activities, come together for a large group lesson, then apply what they’ve learned through age and gender based small group discussion. Girls meet in room 323 and boys meet in room 324 for a full hour.
Special Needs Buddies
Adult and teen volunteers buddy-up with children who need one-on-one assistance to participate in the various Sunday school classes.

Sunday morning nursery is available for children from 1 month through 2 years old at all worship services. It is in the Childcare wing on the 2nd floor, rooms 207-209.
Three classrooms are designed to meet the developmental needs of the children: Lambs are newborns to early walkers, Bunnies are children walking well up to age 2, and Lion Cubs are two year olds.
The nursery is staffed by a committed group of volunteers who nurture and teach our smallest members about the love of Christ. Each room is well-equipped with appropriate, good-quality toys, and we do our best to ensure that each room is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
We have a comprehensive check-in process that enables parents to leave, confident that their child is safe. Parents are asked to provide a cell phone number and keep their cell phone close by during the service, on vibrate, so we can contact them if needed.

Calling all 4th-6th Graders – Have you Heard about Club?!
First Fridays of the Month from 7-9pm on the 3rd floor
FRIENDS. FUN. FOR REAL. That’s what Club is about, and it’s your place to belong! Expect to have a TON of fun making friends, playing awesome games, and learning about how God is real in our everyday lives. Club is a great place to strengthen friendships from Sunday school, and other friends are welcome to come. We hope to see you there!
Parents, while it is not necessary to register for Club ahead of time, you may find that it’s simpler to fill out the info in advance rather than when you arrive. All children need a VPC release form in order to participate with Club so that we have the necessary emergency contact info on file. Please register here.
Also, while 4th-6th grade children are allowed to sign themselves in and out of Club, an adult does need to accompany them to and from the 3rd floor where Club will be hosted. This gives parents a chance to see the fun going on as well as ensuring that your children are safe with their designated guardian for the night.
Parent Activities During Club
Stay tuned for monthly details by email about opportunities for parents to connect at VPC while Club is happening.
Childcare for Children 3rd Grade and Younger
If parents are attending any VPC activity during Club, childcare is available for the younger members of the family. Age appropriate games and fellowship will be provided for them in a safe and fun atmosphere. Please RSVP for childcare at least 48 hours in advance to email@example.com. Please note that VPC is not licensed as a drop off childcare facility, and parents must be present in the building while their children are in childcare.

Sacraments Class for 3rd-6th Grade Children and Their Parents
The Sacraments class provides parents and their children with instruction on baptism and communion, and is a great opportunity for parents to talk to their children about their readiness to participate in the sacraments. The class is a series of four sessions, offered once a year in early spring. It culminates in the baptism of those wishing it, and participation in many of the children’s first Communion with the congregation.
• God’s Gift of Grace; separate class for children and parents
• Signs and Symbols; combined class for children and parents
• Baptism; separate class for children and parents
• Communion/Meals & Sacrifices; combined class for children and parents
Baptism is offered for those children not yet baptized at several worship services in the Spring. Please register your child(ren) to be Baptized. If your child has not participated in the sacrament on Baptism, please visit Baptism.
Registration for the 2016 Sacraments Class will be open in the new year.
