Dementia Care Ministry

“Carry each other’s burdens and so you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2

The Dementia Care Ministry (DCM) of Vienna Presbyterian Church is designed to provide a warm and welcoming space for members of our community living with dementia along with support and encouragement for family caregivers.

At present, the primary ministry activity of the DCM is a monthly gathering called the “Park Street Fellowship” for those living with dementia and their caregivers. The first hour involves a time of group fellowship (music, fun and games), followed in the second hour by a light lunch with caregivers breaking out for a support group meeting while loved ones participate in volunteer-led stimulating activities and conversation in a safe and comfortable environment.

In addition to providing caring and mutual support for one another during the caregiver support group, we provide information about various other resources and services in the community that may be of interest to caregivers and their loved ones. See the link on this page for a resource list.

The “Park Street Fellowship” meets from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, usually on the second Monday of each month. Upcoming dates include July 8, August 12, September 9, October 7 (1st Monday due to Columbus Day Holiday), Nov. 4 or Nov. 11 (TBD), and December 9.

Please register during the week prior to a Gathering by calling Lara Ferreira at 703.938.9050 or by email.

If you have questions or other related needs for support, please contact Pastor Connie Jordan-Haas at 703.938.9050, x116 or email.
