An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Sunday, repeating until June 30, 2024
Come explore how you can imitate Jesus Christ in your relationships, worldview, and everyday tasks with a community that highly values learning from each other’s insights. The class conversation is rich as is the desire to grow in following Christ. Starting April 7, the Apprentices community will read and discuss Misreading Scripture with Western Eyes: Removing Cultural Blinders to Better Understand the Bible by biblical scholars E. Randolph Richards and Brandon J. O’Brien. Their premise: What was clear to the original readers of Scripture is not always clear to us. Because of the cultural distance between the biblical world and our contemporary setting, we often bring modern Western biases to the text. Come explore nine key areas in which you can better understand the cultural dynamics of the Bible.
Meeting Time: 11 AM through June 30
Location: Room 205
Group Leaders: Jeff and Jennifer Hallett
