An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Sunday, repeating until June 8, 2025
The Foundations class is a community with open hearts, open minds, and open doors, seeking Jesus’ guidance for our lives. Grow your roots in Christ with practical insights for how we can love God and love one another. The lessons in Foundations enhance your understanding of Scripture using prominent Christian books as a resource to engage in thoughtful discussion.
Fall Series: “Love Over Fear”
Love God and love your neighbor as yourself: that’s what Jesus told us are the greatest commandments. That’s difficult to do when we so frequently hear about things we should fear, especially “them” (whoever “they” might be). The language of fear often surrounds us, but another thing we are told in Scripture is to “fear not.” The Bible has that phrase in one form or another hundreds of times. So how are we to love when surrounded by so much fear and anger? This fall, Foundations will discuss this challenge, especially in the seemingly increasing tensions around us, using Dan White Jr.’s book “Love Over Fear.” We’ll talk about how those in God’s Kingdom can step outside the worldly patterns of “us” and “them” and into God’s eternal grace, and how we can model God’s perfect love that casts out all fear.
