Lunch with Mission Partner, Sports Outreach

Join us on October 6, right after the final worship service, for lunch and a special opportunity to hear from our partner, Sports Outreach Institute. Robert Katende, the mentor behind Ugandan chess champion Phiona Mutesi, will share his incredible journey. From growing up in the slums to earning a civil engineering degree from Kyambogo University, Robert also became one of Uganda’s top soccer players.

Despite the potential for a high-paying career in soccer or engineering, Robert chose a different path, dedicating his life to uplifting the Katwe slum community and developing young Christian leaders. His inspiring story is featured in the film The Queen of Katwe. Don’t miss this chance to hear how Sports Outreach is spreading Christ’s love among Uganda’s communities.
