Deuteronomy 15:11

While caring for our homeless friends in the community will look far different this year, we still want to extend Christ’s love to this very vulnerable community! The county will house everyone in a former Senior Center, but there is NO budget to provide meals. Churches such as VPC, who LOVED opening our doors, have been asked to simply provide meals. The guests will absolutely miss the welcoming hospitality and loving care that so many of you have helped provide! There are opportunities that we will have to serve, it’s just going to be like everything else this year – different!
The Spotlight Mission Partner for November is our CARES Act partner, Food for Others. It was wonderful to have Dustin Lape with us at yesterday’s Christ and Culture class. Even though we’ve been immersed in the grocery distribution, I was amazed to learn the scope of the food insecurity problem, and the wide variety of programs that Food for Others is facilitating to address this. 1 Timothy 6:18-19
18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them. 19 By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven—it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well.
And please remember those in our community that mission partner Committee for Helping Others extends God’s love through the annual Christmas Store. While we can’t host the store, we can still provide for the families who have so little to spare.
God bless this congregation for your unending generosity!
